Absolutely delighted to see the boys get their first win in the league this season.
1st half.
Not the best of conditions - cold morning and mucky grass park.
Cleland nearly got the opener but big Conner was there to clear it off the line.
We took an early lead after Paddy won the ball in his own half and sent a great pass towards Dec and Moreno. Moreno showed great strength to hold of the defenders and slot it away.
There are chances at each end and Moreno/Dec working really well together.
Cleland nearly equalised but Leon made a great save on a 1v1
Cleland then did make it 1-1 with a strong run and finish.
Moreno got us back in the lead with his 2nd. A corner in was well defended but then dropped to Dec who beat his man and put a low cross - Moreno there to finish.
Moreno then nearly got his hat trick after a great block from Conner turned into an excellent pass - Moreno 1st time shot but narrowly went wide.
2nd half
Cleland the better side at the start of the 2nd half.
Leon kept us ahead once again with a brilliant save in another 1v1 situation
We did then start to grow into the 2nd half. Moreno showed great strength with a run down the right that was nearly finished by a fantastic shot by Dec but just over the bar.
Dec did then manage to get his much deserved goal and our 3rd. An excellent block by Conner - Cayden was a great through ball and a brilliant long range strike by Dec
Cleland nearly got back in the game when they went through on an open goal but an amazing last ditch tackle from Ryan saved us.
Dec nearly got his 2nd with another great run and pass from Cayden and a superb from Dec but it hit the bar.
Final result - 3-1 to us
Overall, this was a hard fought game from both sides in poor conditions. Fantastic for the boys to get the 3 points.
Shout out to Conner - first game back after a bad injury and he was superb.
Also to Moreno and Dec - fantastic performance from both of them.
MOTM was captains choice - Ryan - who was solid at RB and made some decisive blocks and tackles.
